Recently I dropped from Plat through Gold now Silver with Qantas. Just printed a boarding pass for a flight today and it says under Service information:

QC SILV ONEWORLD RUBY QFxx_xx_

I'm pretty sure my leftover Qantas Club membership has expired so what does the "QC" mean? Does it mean I can still use the Qantas Club lounge? I'd rather not go all the way up the big glass escalator at Perth domestic only to be told to go away

Cheers
Liam.

I'm pretty sure that means your a Qantas club member. When you say your lounge membership expired do you take account of it being put on hold while your gold and platinum?

In any case, my BP with both QC Bronze and QC silver has been all I've needed to get access to the lounge. I reckon you'll be able to get in.

Thanks for the reply I hope you're right :) Yeah I took the leftover QC into account as my Gold status fell to Silver in January 10 and they sent me renewal letters for my Qantas Club saying it was due to expire in May 10 so I assumed that was it.

Oh, it's an Any Seat Award booking going Economy to Melbourne and Business back to Perth - not sure if that has anything to do with it?

I really don't expect to fly much these days and if I do I was going to look at an o/s trip to do a status run and possibly achieve Plat if it wasn't much on top of an o/s trip already - you get all the perks of Plat/Gold for the 2 years after you achieve that so possibly worth it.

First I need to read up on the jargon and that thread by Lindsay on QF links and info. Otherwise the first time a person says book a "J class NAN to get your WP" I'm going to have no idea LOL!

Thanks.

I guess I should have logged in to the website and looked. It states:

Membership Type:Qantas Club Silver

So I guess I'm still a QP member (note I'm learning the lingo :p) so I will be in the Qantarse Pub this afternoon.

I assume at Silver status I can take one flying guest - ie my wife in with me?

Note Silver is the FF status and has nothing to do with QC.

It is the "QC" that allows you +1 (so guesting your wife travelling with you will be no problem).

Yeah good point docjames that's what helped me notice. Wife's BP says FF Bronze + number, mine says QC blah... Strangely enough my profile at qantas.com also says:

Qantas Club will expire:31 May 2010

Maybe I should just shutup and enjoy any priveleges while they last...

Cheers

I believe that they normally grant a grace period between end date of membership and the removal of the Qantas Club access. If you renew membership it will backdate to 1 June
