Some advice please .... On 06 May SYD-HKG, all the plum seats are gone, or not available to me.

The only window seat available on QF 127 is 8K which is very close to the toilets. Is that seat affected by light and noise of the comings and goings to the loos?

Otherwise, there are only centre aisles. I have no visual on the upper deck at all. I've only previous experience with row 16 and really liked the side bin. Are they downstairs too?

Do the centre aisles get anything special?

Does row 5 aisle have lots of leg room?

If seats are unlocked closer to departure, when should I start looking?

By look of EF it is a refurb 747

Row 1 is completely empty
2 A/J available
11 AB
12 ABJ

Personally I would take upper deck or 1A/K

Interesting, thanks for looking at EF. I can't see any of those seats so I guess I'll just keep looking and hope that something is still availed 80 hours out.

So, refurb means what, actual flat seats?

I did 1A last September and was lucky enough to have 1B empty so they made one up as a bed and the other was for sitting/eating

That is 0205 on 03 May. Is it pretty fixed?
Yes, though in my experience it can sometimes take up to 4 minutes before the system opens up previously blocked seats. You might need to exit the seat map and re-enter during this time to see the newly released seats.

I always set an alarm on my phone to remind me of T-80.

Thanks guys, have taken note.

It seems to vary by a few min but generally pretty fixed.

All of row 5 gone now. 5E and F were available up till yesterday, but no longer. :( I will however be up before sparrows to check what's available, if anything T-80.

I'm still wondering if there is light/movement/ odours coming from the loos just behind row 8 where we are holding a window?

Lots and lots. ;) In my opinion 5J and 5B are 2 of the best business class seats in all 3 cabins and I used to love upper deck. Managed to get 5B for June trip.

I have been in bulkheads directly behind toilets and in exit rows across from toilets and I have never come across any odours that would make me reconsider my stance of choosing these seats.

Not saying it doesn't happen but think you need to be extremely sensitive to notice.

I'll take the legroom every time.

I am flying to Jo'burg in July, I also selected 5B

Hi Kefci2000,

sorry to jump on this thread, but I've got another thread going about QF or emrites to London for next month, which I have now booked QF.
However all seats in rows 11-13 are taken, and as hubby is WP, we can only see middle seats.
Can you tell from EF if these seats are actually taken or just blocked?

Many thanks, and again sorry to jump on, but noticed you answer to get me outta here's question

Flying melb to London return
may 11 - June 11

TQ

You should probably post this in the appropriate availability thread, but here are the seat maps for the two flights:

Hard to beat J on upper deck of refurbed 747, cabin has about 18 seats only, own loo and usually 2 FA's, Skybed Mk11 seats not too shabby either, exit seats has less bin space, any seat is a good one.
