QF44 cancelled due to "damaged aircraft" so have to take QF46... sadly. Any news on cause?

I don't know why QF44 is cancelled, but ouch... I would be rather annoyed if I'd booked an A330 flight and ended up on the overnight 737 flight from Bali to Melbourne.

Best laid plans... All A330 PERxSYD-DPS with double yolker golden goose. 4hrs in SYD F lounge on way over (jagged a manipulation too .. though food (S&P squid n duck mainly) was hit n miss). Same PNR so hopefully SC will still hit. Not looking forward to that 737...at least things could be worse...🏨🧪💉💊🛏⚰🙏🌴🐶

Is “damaged aircraft” a euphemism for “the federal government has chartered the plane to fly WUH-XCH”?

That's what I'm thinking... got a very vague response from QF when I asked which aircraft was damaged and how....😀

I think there has been a QF A330 limping around the network for the past few weeks with intermittent hydraulic problems, probably more likely this has been taken out of service so they would be down a A330 at the moment?

There has been an A330 (VH-EBF ) with L1 door closure issues.
I flew it as QF566 PER-SYD on 23/12/2019.
The door closed but a light was showing it as still open.
They called an engineer who reopened and reclosed the door, and the light went off.
I was sitting in 2E so I had a good view of the door and had noticed that the door had been closed unusually gently the first time.
(VH-EBF is the A332 layout with only a small central front galley.)
I was chatting to the CSM about it during the flight and she said it had happened to her recently and she assumed it was the same aircraft.
I note that it flew the same flight QF566 on 21 January and then didn't fly again until it flew SYD-PER as QF 577 yesterday.
Perhaps this was related?
VH-EBF did fly QF43 & QF44 on 15/01/2020 and did QF41/42 on the 14th so it is being used on QFi routes.
VH-EBK has been out of action since the 16/01/2020 and flew a "test flight" from BNE on 20/01/2020 which looks like it was actually just a taxi or ground manouvre.
