Looking at dad's flights booked in J PER-SYD-LAX-SYD-PER in August. He is on QF011 SYD-LAX it is showing as a 747 with first class, but his flight back LAX-SYD is QF108 on a 747, but this seat map is showing that there is no first class. (Business config in row 1)? Seems odd in my opinion? Although i am aware of many enhancements that are going on with F.

Does QF still have any 747's with F? He has put in an upgrade for SYD-LAX to F, but i was under the impression all 747's were getting there F seats ripped out? (Am i correct?)

Clarification would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I'm flying to LAX in Sept on the 747 and it's a 3 class J PE Y setup

I think the 4 class cabins with F are only to DFW and maybe SAO??

There are still RR powered 747's that have F in there. These won't have F ripped out, as these are planned to be phased out.

The non-F 747 may be a refurbed jumbo with the 380 type skybed.

I'm on QF107 SYD-LAX Aug 1, 4 class 747, sold as 3 class.
Have J ticket,F seating

He has 108 LAX-SYD, but its showing row 1 as business config.. Tempted to move him there, in case that it turns out to be first.. Although between now and then i'm sure the aircraft change once if not twice so will keep an eye on it and see what happens..

These day First class is generally not sold on QF107/QF108 - so if zone A is available for business class then it cn be a good idea to preselect 3E or 3F as they convert directly to a First Class seat should the substitution occur. Other than that 5B or 5J appear good solo seats on the reconfigured ER's.

QF11 does have First Class and it is generally operated by a 388 - but it looks like the OP's father is on one of the infrequent (these days) 744 operated ones.
