QF A380 back in service from January 11

One of my mates will be taking it for two laps tomorrow.

He sent me an image from yesterday, shot looking over the Captain's shoulder. On speed, and nicely in the slot.

It just went overhead for the transit over the RNP, before turning left for another landing (21:00).

Noticed VH-OQD did a test flight yesterday (6 Jan locally) from LAX.
heh. yes I saw it take off and land on the LA flights (or whatever it is called) youtube. really quick takeoff with no load. like a elephant on a skateboard :D

it flew to/around vegas then back.

Just got an email from QF stating there won't be entertainment on QF11 tomorrow (the first flight).

"We’re sorry, due to a technical fault there won't be any inflight entertainment available onboard your flight, QF11 from Sydney to Los Angeles on 11 January. To help you plan, bring your own device with material for viewing onboard."

geez, how long have they had time to get things sorted? that seems really poor for such a long flight :(
If it is a "technical fault" then fair enough but VH-OQB has been sitting on the ground in Sydney for ~2 months so surely entertainment could've been rebooted in that time. I don't think VH-OQD is doing the flight as my seat map is showing unrefurbished and I think OQD is refurbished.

Or is it the case that QF pays for entertainment on an aircraft type basis rather than an individual aircraft basis - if it was one deal for all the A380s arguably it wouldn't make sense to do the full deal just for one aircraft.
