I guess you need to be 175cm or more to reasonably climb out on Skybed Mk II.

I used to be a dedicated centre seat person so as to avoid being a climber or climbee, but after having my long selected 12E going U/S and having to 'cope' with 13A on a 388 I am a convert.

So me these days at 182cm it is simple:

744/330 Skybed Mk 1 - centre aisle or A/K exit seat (upperdeck)

388 Skybed Mk 2 - A or K preferably rows 12 or 13. (The usefulness of the storage outweighs any minor clambering issues I have encountered.)

I assume you still need to plug headphone in somewhere? Is it just connected to the IFE or could you play something off a laptop? If so, what connections are on offer?

Connected to the IFE and the headset connects inside the opened compartment, with a normal controller. There are points for a further two headsets behind the backs of the couch

After fumbling with my calculator I find that my 5"9" is 175.3cm :D. Now I know why I'm ok stepping over people (although I must admit to a couple of unsteady moments after the G&Ts and reds have taken full effect)

I recently returned from London and I had a window seat, extra storage and all was handy but must admit I did find it awkward climbing out over my neighbour. Would probably chose aisle next time, had not thought about centre seats where you have neither issue. I went over on Cathay would chose their set up over Qantas any day.:)

The centre seats are fine, I didn't really notice an issue with climbing over but perhaps I didn't note it as an issue.

If you're upstairs forget the view, the windows are sort of angled upwards.

I would be happy with either.

Matt

You're all assuming height is the sole determining factor for ease of clamberability, and completely neglecting alcohol consumption :)

Couldn't agree with serfty more. Side storage and the view trumps any clambering issues.

Ditto... don't find myself clambering a lot and the side bin is very, very useful.
Using a CPAP machine I'm effectively restricted to 11K so it's just as well I feel that way.

Just to stir the pot for me one of the very best uses of points is going for the upgrade from J to F .
Lots of storage AND aisle access
