I really hope this doesn't mean I get a non-refurb B744 on QF17 SYD-LAX in a few weeks for which I have a J upgrade request.
It may mean your upgrade request has a lower chance of clearing since there are less J seats!
There are plenty of dates in the system showing an aircraft swap.Where are the changed aircraft showing up, is it in the booking, or the schedule or what? I've looked for a couple of dates in early May and they don't show anything different so I'm not sure how we are supposed to find out. I've phoned, but I don't trust it now. It's disconcerting.
Could they not wetlease a EK bird ( assuming they had a spare?)
Any flight where a Qantas A380 or B744 was scheduled might be affected, either by equipment substititution or cancellation.
I have come across reference to some imminent JNB flights have been canceled likely due to the 744 being retasked to another route.
Time to order those 789s!
Due to the shortage in long haul aircraft, QF has been operating non ER 744 to SCL this week.
This is is due to requiring an ER 744 to sub for the 388 that's out of action on the SYD LAX and MEL LAX rotations.
There are 6 744ER's and 3 744's with Mk II.Yikes! Due to be on SCL-SYD at the end of the week. Are the non ER 744s with MK II beds?
There are 6 744ER's and 3 744's with Mk II.
There are two 4 class and 3 class with Mk I.
Look for the four class (no 1B seat) for first class lay flat seating.

It was time 5 years ago. Hindsight and all.
Not really hindsight, many people on this forum have been scratching their heads about this for years.
Getting a bit Third World isn't it.
If it's any consolation, VH-OEH is operating the three and a half hour late Saturday night QF18 from LAX to SYD and is about to be at the gate in SYD at 1105 this morning. It is then forming QF27 to SCL at what the QF website continues to suggest is 1240 but my guess is more like 1255 or 1300. Unlike VH-OJI that is 24.4 years old according to www.airfleets.net, OEH is a relative baby at only 12.3 years of age. Not even a teenager, so be grateful for small mercies!....
Yikes! Due to be on SCL-SYD at the end of the week. Are the non ER 744s with MK II beds?
