I'm booked on QF12 this Sunday.. My seat selection still indicates the A380. Should I be expecting communication from Qantas or will I find out my fate at check in?

Qantas staff will no doubt be burning the midnight oil tonight working through this.

If there was a don't like button I would hit it for you.

I understand VH-OJB is operating QF31 to SIN tonight, and left 3 hours late.

Not exactly the most well appointed 747 in the fleet

At least the PE seats are new! QF source have listed the current situation in terms of A380 locations:

The A380 fleet are positioned as follows: VH-OQA - Singapore, VH-OQB undergoing C Check in Frankfurt, VH-OQC - Sydney, VH-OQD - Los Angeles, VH-OQE - Los Angeles, VH-OQF - Los Angeles.

Ouch.

If I got OJB I would be so annoyed (I would say worse but not appropriate for public consumption) ;)

We're booked on QF093 today 5/11 - MEL-LAX A380
Was due to depart at 11:10am, phoned the call centre at about 8pm (4/11) and just told to have my phone on and expect a call in the morning. I'm a lowly Bronze member with Sale seats, so we're literally at the bottom of the food chain.

This trip is our ten year anniversary present to ourselves, completely devastated. :(
any advice would be hugely appreciated. We have full travel insurance, but we have so many stops on the trip with hotels/cars - all pre paid.. At least we're not stranded away from home but in some ways would prefer to be stuck overseas than waiting it out here...

It could be worse. You could be stuck in LAX flying VA.

We are one A380 out of action, it is a popular aircraft with many people Booking specifically.

Given it may well be some weeks, there will be a few inconvienced by this.

Are you one of these people?

Any QF insider comment?

Cheers

We flew SIN-LHR on Qantas A380 on Sunday. Loved it. Due to return on Nov 20th. Now wondering what we'll end up on.

We're on QF11 on 1/12...hopefully this will be sorted by then. They're going to be in a world of trouble if they're still out of service when the Christmas holiday flights start gearing up.

I'm heading for the airport in 30 minutes for an early check in and to try to find a good seat on what I presume will be a 744. No calls from QANTAS yet, so I guess it will be a little adventure. Still no online check in or seat selection for my booking.

QF A380 flight disruption experiences - please post here your altered travel plans

Many will have altered travel plans with some good and bad news no doubt, some up and downgrades and increased wait times and now possibly full aircraft.

What has happened to you?

Cheers

SPRUCE. ;)

tempted to do the same, let me know how you go.

Re: QF A380 flight disruption experiences - please post here your altered travel plan

Just checked in at Adelaide.
Very easy and no dramas.
Exit row to Syd
Bulkhead to Lax
Exit row to SFO

Bulkhead on 744 may not be as good as 80a on the 380, but 40a on the 744 should be good.

Chocks Away!

Interesting flight changes. The pax that got OJB would have been surpised enough. A BA777 gives another group a surprise!
