Oh, that's a kick in a teeth. I was hoping to do a Mid-June AA run. If I understand the PR correctly, the rates will drop after 1 May 2017. Boo.
Intra-US travel probably best credited to AAdvantage from 1 May??

New earn rates for flights to/from USA as well as intra-USA have been published on QF website. It's a bit of a bloodbath. Rates intra-US in biz and first have been halved effective 1 May 2017.

I don't think so. AAdvantage earn on AA is based on revenue ($)... EQD Elite Qualifying Dollars now.

????The latest update I see on that page is "For travel from 1 December 2015"
Wow.
How is NYC/BOS-DFW classed as a competitive route.
And anything between
West Coast USA/Canada -- Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver
AND..
East Coast USA/Canada -- Boston, Charlotte, Miami, New York, Orlando, Toronto, Washington DC
Combined with the reclassification of First to Business, this smashes most KUP/YUP runs.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there not still some value in intra-USA flights within the "coast". E.g. Flying LAX-PHX-YVR as even taking into account the reclassification of domestic First as Business, each sector would fall within the "other" category a earn 60SC per sector?
I guess this locks in what I'd been planning to do for my next RTW anyway now that the booking codes have changed and the D books into A on 2 class flights no longer works. Will have to check which domestic US routes have QF codeshares.New earn rates for flights to/from USA as well as intra-USA have been published on QF website. It's a bit of a bloodbath. Yes - Still 'some value'
HNL-LAX-DFW-MIA-JFK unchanged for example
Just the more direct flights are impacted.

If one were cynical, you would think that the DOT denial of the AA JV with QF was just a handy cover for a devaluation that Qantas probably already had planned.

The old rate for DFW-NYC/BOS was higher than the equivalent distance rate so that the SC earn on an AA-coded SYD-DFW-JFK routing was the same as flying SYD-JFK direct on QF code. I suppose if partner earn is to be halved, then it makes sense to do so on this route as well. FWIW, the DFW-NYC/BOS rate is now LOWER than the equivalent distance rate.Wow.
