One of the other conditions is that the flights cannot be sold for fares originating in Australia. I guess QF would never know that for sure though

Hate to spoil the party- but I think this might be the *last chance* to use the ie pos method - juding by number of posts here and how public this has become.

How long has it been going on? I grabbed some cheap tickets to LAX a couple of weeks ago.

Possibly a link with the current sale to SIN & BKK - I too picked up MEL-LAX then DFW-BNE for $1050 in Nov. the week before... And that too was on sale on qantas.au at the same time...

Feeling the fear that this won't last too much longer...

Yeah I think these cheap fares are connected anytime QF does a sale. It is hit and miss sometimes. However if you flexible and play around with the dates and routing you can find some great deals.

Isn't that exactly what people have been doing though?

Wonder if they're any cheaper ex Asia on Expedia Ireland site?

Fares can't be sold in AUS/NZ, pretty sure that's the only condition. These are the sale restrctions for a fare that is up there now for PER-SIN-PER but not a sale fare. The sale conditions look the same to what I saw before I booked a few weeks ago.

ORIGINATING AUSTRALIA -

Incidentally, here is the fare data for PER-SIN-PER booked a few weeks ago. (Add 15EUR for Expedia fee)

AIR FARE : AUD 197.00
EQUIV FARE PAID : EUR 153.00
TAX : EUR 115.00YQ 21.86WY 58.58XT
TOTAL : EUR 348.44

Loads.

Ring them before and do it during business hours, cross your fingers. Or maybe keep them on the phone while you do it.

They rang me after I tried to book, it seems they Expedia had tried to put $19 charge on my card 3x times and they blocked it. After I said it was ok the booking when through normally.

Any one know what fare class the expedia sale books into for QF?
N or Q class is of no interest to me. O works.

Thanks

Fred

Looks like these are now ~$720AUD ?

As more tickets are booked, more of the lower Y bucket fares are sold out and thus pricing will only go up.

My girlfiend's sister bought one of these last week, it was around ~AU$660. If she booked a day or two earlier, the same flights and dates were ~AU$605.

I checked all the way from now until April next year. Cheapest is ~720AUD booking into 'N'. I wonder if all the cheaper (O?) fares were actually sold, or just pulled.

The sale finished last week.

If you book a flight with QF on expedia or any of the other booking engines does the flight appear on the QF site when you log in and allow you to manage your booking, for seat selection etc??

Yes. It appears instantly in your profile for you to select seats.

Thanks for that, I just did a dummy booking and I see it comes up with an area to submit frequent flyer information, very handy.

Yes, it's great! Also, if you do make a booking and for some reason it didn't show up in your bookings, I daresay that you could call Qantas and they may be able to sort it out or even just select seats for you over the phone.
