QF bans pax for 7yrs re touching allegation

So what should be the sin -bin period if a passenger causes an aircraft to divert to another airport due to poor behaviour and failure to follow Cabin crew instructions.

I’d ask for a reality check on the rates of false sexual assault allegation, conviction rates etc. The stats in question are horrific. Most if not all males would have a female friend or family member who has been sexually assaulted. Without referencing this case directly, we need as a society to move away from the notion that a large % of sexual assault allegations are false

Completely agree. Along with the statement by so called representatives of the banned pax that SA allegations are made to try to get upgrades to business class. That needs to be completely debunked also.

However you can't forget that false allegations do occur. I know of 2 cases where there was irrefutable evidence of a false allegation. In one of those cases the investigator didn't believe in such a thing so the man was charged and ended up in court. When the medical evidence was given the judge asked the prosecutor to approach the bench and told him not to waste any more of the court's time.
But the fellow accused had already lost his job and family.

The bigger problem is the number of sexual assaults that go unreported. The number is staggering.
I acted as an advisor to the QLD medical board to advise women who reported attacks by health practitioners. You can plead as much as you like but most women chose not to proceed.
At least this case that is not the problem.

From December … a NSW Judge blasting the DPP for bringing clearly false allegations to trial …. Just because false claims are clearly very rare doesn’t mean they don’t exist and we should disregard all the key principles of our legal system. Noting this is OT as QF’s little panel isn’t a court.

EDIT: Just for clarity, I agree false claims are very uncommon in comparison to legitimate claims that go untested or even unreported. I just don’t believe accusation=guilt.

While the stats are uncommon and I agree with that. With that said, there has also been an increase in opportunistic women looking to get a payout (or hush money) especially in the higher networth/ celebrity world.

They understand that the court of public opinion (media) can easily destroy someone's life/career even if the courts eventually find the defendant completely and utterly innocent. The court process takes a long time and by that point the person has already had their life destroyed by the media. It's almost like high stakes blackmail.

Also i do feel like i need to put disclaimers that I don't belittle assualt of any kind on any gender, just that in the current landscape, the media will run wild with a story they think will sell and can absolutely destroy someone even if they're innocent and there's usually very light punishment for the person with the false accusation.

Yes one of the biggest recent cases is MLB Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer (Cy Young is best pitcher award). Had 100m + deal with the Dodgers. A girl alleges that he sexually and violently assualted her. Media went nuts with the story MLB indefinitely suspends him, Dodgers no longer wanted him all while nothing was settled in court.

A couple years on now, basically everything comes out that she orchestrated everything. Even had text evidence on her phone that "Bauer was her next target". On the morning of her supposed assault she took a selfie video showing no signs of assualt and her smiling happily in bed with a sleeping Bauer. She even deliberately asked for rough sex consensually to try and frame him. Even when caught and confronted with the fact she lied about everything, she took the I did nothing wrong response.

As of right now despite him being physically still a top pitcher and MLB removing his indefinite suspension, no team has picked him up yet after a year playing in Japan.
