QF Club & Gold Status

Before the recent changes, my status always showed as Qantas Club Platinum. I assumed this was because I had a suspended Qantas Club membership. With the new website, it just shows Platinum. Anyone else noticed this?

I have a lifetime QP to fall back onto if I drop from Plat to Gold to Silver or Bronze.

I still show as Membership type: Platinum

Ha ha....

Yes you get to use the Priority Check-in for Heaven or Hell and your bags get tag Priority too!!!

What happens if you qualify mid-flight for SG. For Example, if I I'm travelling ADL-SYD-BNE all on the same day and I qualify for SG on the ADL-SYD flight, do I get SG status straight away and hence receive the 50% bonus points & other benefits for the SYD-BNE flight OR does SG not start until the next day?

Hey good question - If I can remember back that far it is calculated / updated when the points are recognised in your profile - so ensure it is on your BP. Domestic should be same day. International is a bit slower and partner airlines always take forever. Somebody maybe more precise than I.

cheers SPRUCE

Qantas is quite good at crediting bonuses automatically for flights flown after gaining status, but before the status posts. Not sure whether they would do it in your theoretical situation, and while I may have been in that situation previously, can't recall what treatment I had.

Domestic Flights don't seem to be the "nearly instantaneous" posting they used to be, so it could be a day or more until your status is recognised officially by the system.

I have not been too focused on LTG as i know its no for sure thing that it will be always around or have the same features and i am QC life time anyway which i think should retain lounge privs. (Since thats the product they sold)

E

Or "life" as defined by QF

There is no legal definition of 'life' in trade practices. QANTAS would not cancel 'life' memeberships if it was comercially deterimental to do so, and the perceptions that would ensue. Another way of looking at it is the life of any program is one that has attained its goals? If they are not changed then how are they mantained?

Flashware makes a valid point - 'life' as defined by QANTAS.

Cheers SPRUCE

my Lifetime Gold account just says Gold. And I technically have about 18 months of paid Qantas Club membership on hold since last decade, waiting for my Lifetime status to expire .

NM, having attained Lifetime Gold Status, have you ever considered asking for a refund for the 18months that you are owed?

They would probably deny it I would imagine.

Just a question I have had for all you lifetime golds out there....

I know it is something I will never achieve... I always fly free using points really.

As it was paid by my then employer, who technical no longer exists, they would likely have a problem making such a refund to the party that made the payment.

Are you suggesting that, as a QP Life, if I reach Life Gold I could ask for half my life back? That would be attractive:!:

Its a good question, I will probably find out in the next couple of years!!;)

So that is the reason I've gone back to crediting my flights to QF - to get a refund on my (personally paid) Lifetime QP membership.

Hell, they should gie me the majority of the money paid, I think I lasted a year before I hit Gold and then Plat (and now back to Gold).

Yes, but they may wait until they can determine an accurate percentage to be repaid. And that percentage can only be determined once they have confirmation of the expiration date of your lifetime membership .

Good point NM but not something to which I am looking forward to achieving  (there's a first )

Ahh, but I plan on living forever ..... so far so good :p

Good God, why would you want to?

I can't imagine anything worse than an eternity with Celine Dion.

I plan to go out in style around 55!
