Hi AA members,
A quick question if I book Sydney-London RT flight in J on Emirates using the QF flight codes can I credit the flights to my aadvantage membership? Has anybody done this and got miles loyalty points from booking QF coded flights?
Kind regards

No direct expereince.
The wording has changed over time. IIRC "Qantas codeshare flight" used to have wording that included all airlines. Not just QLink & OW.

Earn miles
You can earn AAdvantage® miles when you fly on Qantas marketed and operated flights and Qantas codeshare flights operated by Qantas affiliate airline QantasLink, or other oneworld® carriers.

Here's how:
  • Buy an eligible published fare ticket in an eligible booking code
  • Fly an eligible route

The number of miles you earn depends on the flight distance and the fare class of your ticket.

When you earn eligible AAdvantage® miles for travel on Qantas, you'll also earn Loyalty Points that count toward qualifying for AAdvantage® status.

Thank you, yes I read that wording on their website about qf codeshare flights. I was just wondering if anyone has had any success crediting to AA even with that wording?

Yes you can credit to AA/BA etc as long as it’s EK on QF codeshare flight number.

This is one of the few weird exceptions to the OneWorld rules which are generally marketed and operated by a OneWorld airline.

As indicated by @Mwenenzi , the wording appears to have changed sometime in the last few years. It used to be that all you needed was a Qantas flight number in an eligible fare bucket. Under the revised wording EK metal would be disqualified from earn.

YMMV

Ok I will try using my aadvantage and report back. Flight isn’t until July though, thsnks for everyone’s help.

If it had "" Qantas affiliate airline", " QantasLink, or other oneworld® carriers"" may be different. Extra comma after affiliate airline. I have tried to find a pdf of the old wording. Thought I had a copy on my old Win95 desktop computer.

The ability to credit to BA ended a few months back and there must be a concern that it would carry over to AA
