QF Companion Sale J and PE - on sale

Interesting - all seats are available in the F cabin so I'd be interested to hear the feedback as we can still select any seat. Why are 4E/F better? The front 2 seemed good for two of us to have very little foot traffic - or do they use the front cupboard to store people's clothes when they change into PJ's? But if there are other suggestions I'm happy to hear them!

Only reason we booked 4E/4F was 3E/3F were taken.

The only concern is if the new MK11 seats are fitted by then, what J seats will be available or given?.

Well the current 744's with J also have 14 seats in the front cabin but the new ones take more space. Will the reduce the number of seats? They should just keep the old F seats and not bother really!!

$6599 PER-SIN-LHR Return, not too shabby at all!! Though plenty of other options that are cheaper than this but decisions decisions decisions.

The outbound would be on the BA 747.....whats their J class like? Home on the A380 (if the wings haven't fallen off :p)

Couple hundred cheaper to fly to Frankfurt, will those A/C have the new Skybeds installed by September?

Thanks,

Ended up putting a "Pay later" on my flights as there wasn't a heap of availability left in I class on the flights I wanted. Now to pay the $12996.22!! :o

PER-SIN-LHR-SIN-PER, was looking forward to trying Emirates and stopping in Dubai but problem was no status and no points and lets face it that's what we are here for :) But lucky Qantas came in at the 13th hour with these deals.

SIN-LHR is on BA so that will be interesting.

I'm going 19th April..
Anyone know if inflight wifi would be available Mel-lax that day?

Horribly tempted to book Mrs MatF and I to LHR in December for a few weeks, but the fares appear to be non-refundable, which is making me balk. It's a long way off to be sure we'll be able to go. Hmmmm .... decisions, decisions.

Snagged some MEL-LAX RTN flights in PE for DH and I in July for a business trip. Glad I waited to book, MUCH cheaper than last time I checked.

Cheers

Timmi

. Some would argue the next J seat is superior to the F seat. I for one agree with this.

Thankfully these deals came in at the perfect time to decide Chicago as the venue for dinner on my 30th birthday in July! I managed to pick up two CBR-SYD-LAX-ORD-JFK-SFO-LAX-SYD-CBR seats for $3300 each with SYD-LAX return in PE.

That is a great birthday deal :)

Oops I must have miscounted on the seat map - didn't look properly! That's probably unlikely with the mk II seats though considering how much more space they require?

Mk 2 Skybeds in Zone A? 14!

3 rows, 1ABJK, 2ABJK, 3ABEFJK. - for the seasoned traveller 3EF are among the best seats.

Namcom welcome to AFF. That is a nice run out of CBR for a first poster!
i think Chicago Chop House was pretty good for red meat eaters but check recent reviews seeing we don't go there as often as we should.

This companion sale is really good value. I am about to book business class tickets to LAX on QF and they have always been my last choice for international travel only because they are so much more expensive than anyone else!

Oh dear! Can someone tell me if I have done something silly.... Wanting to fly to Aspen next Jan love the J price to LAX! Not able to book thru to a aspen as AA haven't released seats for all Jan yet. So I rang QF they couldn't help. Then I rang a travel agent to book the SYD/LAX legs hoping they could add the domestic fare later and keep it on the same booking ref. they couldn't access the QF sale fare! So I ended up booking the QF legs on line. Have I caused myself to have to pick up & re-check my bags each time I pass thru LAX UGH what should I have done???

Who are you planning to fly to Aspen on?

In any case, going SYD-xLAX- you still need to collect and recheck your bags - if they were not checked all the way through from SYD it simply means a short bus trip to your departure terminal as LAX, unless you overnight.

As above, On the return, it depends who you book with for the North American itinerary.

Great find there namcom! It has inspired me to book a couple of PE seats to YYZ in Aug. So far the best price I can come up with is $4100 ea to YYZ, although I can do JFK for $3430 ea and add on a seperate AA connection. Maybe I need to keep looking or try different routes, but it seems that entering YYZ causes the jump in fares - I'd appreciate any suggestions on this.

What booking class does the QF PE fare book into on AA connecting flights?

cheers,
