QF/EK FF benefits revealed

Unless it impacts QF members. Will skywards members be competing with qff members for the same number of award seats, or will more award seats be added to the pool to cater for increased demand?

Surely the fact that QFF members now have access to BA, CX, QF and EK award seats to LHR for example will offset any reduction in award seat availability due to Skywards members now having access to QF award seats?

Plus the ability to redeem on MH now as well through to LHR too as yet another option.

but it's not just LHR routes - what about SYD-MEL, HBA-SYD, PER-BNE etc etc etc.

Good point - is there though much of an issue getting award flights domestically?

Am I right that Qantas SC are only on QF/EK codeshare flights with a QF number, not on those with an EK number?

Sucks doesnt it after all with the BA JSA you could earn points and status credit even if it was purely a BA flight number

Ahhhhhh, you can still fly Sydney to London on BA and still receive points, status credits on a BA flight number.

At the same levels ???? I thought that they were going to drop the amount of points and bonus points for cabin and status. Please correct me if I am wrong and I hope I am :D

Nothing has been announced about the impact on earning on BA after the end of the QF/BA JSA. Pessimists are assuming that status bonus will go and earning on discount whY flights will drop. SCs wont go as they are oneworld. However the pessimists again expect the SC earning on discount whY to fall.

Hard to know what BA will do but they may want to continue to offer point and SC incentives.

Only changes will be the reversion of the kangaroo route benefits back to the same rates as all other routes for most Y classes (0.25 per mile), pretty easy to work out, and given that special arrangement was specifically part of the JSA, bound to happen. Neither BA or QF are leaving One World, status credit changes are improbable.

Wont that mean though that you will earn fewer SCs on discount whY as the base mileage will be calculated on a lower rate?

We flew BA1326 and BA1333 between LHR and NCL and earned 500 minimum points and the 40 SC's I would expect with the J tickets we had so it does not have to be a QF codeshare. Personally not too fussed at this moment if things changed as I will be using DXB so no more LHR! Woohoo!!

Mileage calculation for SC earn is not based on points earn but actual mileage flown as determined by Qantas (think great circle but with some little inconsistencies that work for and against the FF member)

What's with this apparent obsession luggage allowance. I only travel with hand luggage wherever I go and for however long

Also times change and we all have to move on. Not every individual feature will improve but OVERALL the whole Emirates deal will be really good!

EH

I used to fly to Frankfurt premium economy, new arrangement doesn't work for me.

That was also "my" old route also. Had an itinerary booked in PE for July. The day I found out they were bringing the cessation forward to April I got on the phone to QF and had them re-route me on QF1 to LHR in PE and they were even happy to change my final destination to DUS which is more convenient for me anyway. Have never done the transit through LHR before and I can't say I am really looking forward to it. Happy that I am still in PE all the way though.

Oh it's a joy! Just make sure if your connection is on BA to reverse your preference to get what you want.

Ie it's front of plane aisle, request rear of plane window and vice a versa. Don't forget to applaud the pilot on landing for doing his job. :p
