Has anyone seen or heard anything about a QF/EK RTW fare? I can't seem to find anything mentioned on the QF website.

Hi,

I'm interested in this as well. Since the tie up I've only done one RTW ticket and that was setting off eastwards from Perth (essentially I went Perth - Sydney - South America - London - Singapore - Perth and so was unaffected by the Emirates tie up. I'm now looking at another RTW trip but this time I'll be setting off in the opposite direction and was hoping to stop off in Dubai on my way to London.

So here's the problem, as far as I can see from the OneWorld website you can't take any of the QF/EK codeshare flights from Perth. the only option is to either head over to SYD/MEL first to pick up some QF metal or take another more convoluted route (I think I could go via HKG or KUL) if you want to stop off in Dubai.

Am I reading this right that Perth based RTW tickets have become more restrictive in terms of flight options since the tie up with EK and that whilst these more convoluted routes might yield more SCs they will be missing the magical ~ that causes me so much trouble?

EK not part of oneworld so the answer is NO

just booked a comprehensive RTW and was struggling to get a SYD-LHR leg, QF "D" sold out, BA sold out, CX 36 hour flight or QF/BA via Joberg were only options.

Called QF help desk and managed to get on QF9 ex MEL

I'm also interested in this. I got this year's DONE4 that I start on 1 September stitched up before the QF/EK alliance. I don't mind so much about the lack of QFi out of PER as I happily make the first sector PER-SYD or PER-MEL in order to get on the A380 out of Oz (and to try for a UPG to F ).

I wondered (not very optimistically) whether the QF-coded flights on EK metal would be eligible for OneWorld RTW fares so it looks like the answer in 'no'. Bit of a bummer. Would be good to avoid LHR going into Europe.

Again no as EK JA not part of OneWorld

I realise that EK aren't part of OneWorld, but that shouldn't necessarily mean that QF/EK can't offer a RTW fare on their own metal unless QF's agreement with OW precludes it - you could easily fly QF to Joburg, Dubai, Los Angeles and then pick up EK from there, possibly finishing the lap back on QF.
