A question for the frequent Floungers!

The first and so far only time I've been to the First Lounge at SYD, upon passing through the sliding doors there was a person at what looked like a movable counter. We showed him our boarding passes and WP card and we were in. We walked past the forest wall, up the escalators and into the lounge.

My question: were we expected to show our passes and card again beyond the escalators? The day we went the service desk there was busy and there didn't seem to be any further check so we headed on in. Or is the staff member just inside the first set of doors the one and only guardian :?:

It seems to vary - sometimes they take the BP at the desk and "register" you, sometimes they don't. There is sometimes nobody at the entrance and on those occasions they do always check upstairs.

In the last financial year have been there about 25 times and have has boarding pass swiped/registered every single time.

Cheers

Have never not had my bp swiped / checked at the top of the escalator. The doorman is basically there to keep the riff-raff out - nothing more afaik.

Same here.

When traveling F the staff at the desk will ask if you would like them to hold on to your BP....they then come and collect you for boarding.

Always hand over my BP to the desk, never seen it really busy upstairs

Okay, didn't want to make a goose of ourselves if we were meant to present ourselves somewhere again upstairs. Thanks for the replies everyone.
