QF Gold not allowed access to EK Sydney lounge [flights to USA]

Rocked up to the Qantas lounge with a Y boarding pass showing QFF Silver as well as Skywards Gold card and was told no access unless I attribute my Skywards membership to this booking. I stood my ground and showed the ladies the link to their website in the OP but they didn't budge. They said they received this query regularly and they were consistent in not allowing access in situations like mine.

Ended up using a lounge pass from the recent ANZ Black offering so all was good. At least now I know.

Next time just remove your QFF number and retro credit. Or add the QFF number at the gate after leaving the lounge.

Didn't realise you could do that. In any event this booking was made during the double points offer and I didn't want to jeopardise my chances. If it weren't for that I'd just use my EK account as it would be neither here nor there. But with 5200 extra points on the line (2600 each way), I thought I'd let discretion be the better part of valour. It's small beer, I know, but when you're a card carrying member of Barnaby's weather board and iron clan, every bit helps.

Well as a Platinum member flying to Bali (QF43) in J I was declined entry as EK doesn't codeshare with Qantas on that route.

I didn't really care as I had QF F Lounge access this was just because I was in transit for a while and wanted to take a walk.

My friends who are QF SG are flying QF117 Sydney to hong kong. Qantas codeshares with Finnair, Lan, El Al and Jet Airways, but not with Emirates.

Does that mean they won't be able to access the Emirates Lounge before their flight?
The QF website says they can access if they are on a EK or QF flight.
Has the rules changed?

Based on my experience I’d say be prepared for a knock back even if you are supposed to able to access the Emirates Lounge. So if the rules say yes to access bring along a print out.

This seems to be an Australia-specific thing. I've tried entering the MEL and BNE Emirates lounges when travelling with QF and was knocked back when on a non code share flight and welcomed in when on a code share flight. Despite what is on the QF/EK websites they seem to have their own set of rules. Conversely, I've had no problem accessing Emirates lounges outside of Australia even when on a non code sharing QF flight so perhaps they will get access on their return out of Hong Kong.
