I'm flying on QF127 in J in April 2015 from SYD to HKG and then onto CAN (same journey, same ticket) on KA786 in Y (no J on the flight apparently)

Am I entitled to visit the HK Qantas Lounge on arrival into HK whilst in transit?

Yes, if you are a QP member or QF SG (OWS) or above.

The relevant Oneworld rule is below.

Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:

First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

thank you Mal, much appreciated. Looking forward to trying the QF HK Lounge.

I'm not clear whether this thread is meant to be about transiting and using the QF HKG lounge, or about arriving into HKG and using the OW arrivals lounge which is after immigration.

I don't think being a Qantas Club member would help in this case as the OP is not flying onwards with QF, JQ, EK or AA.

It appears it's about transitting. But for clarity, there is no oneworld arrivals lounge at HKG (or anywhere else for that matter). CX operates an arrivals lounge which is strictly for their own customers.

I got access to the arrivals lounge in June when arriving on QF, so unless the rules have changed since June then it is not correct that it is strictly for CX pax.

Try the BBQ pork dish from the bar, it's spectacular.

I'd heard so much about it, but was so underwhelmed when I tried it. Might have been that I had just come from the Cathay F lounge.

I think you may have got lucky.

But as the information states, you still must be a CX (or KA) passenger. OWE on another carrier, at least according to what's printed, doesn't suffice.
