Congratulations well done.

7 years more to go for me I think. 14 years to get 12% there and now after 15 years I'm 22% on the way

Another congrats.

76% LTS, at this rate I confidently expect to make LTG by age 80 if not sooner :D

Cheers skip

Woo hoo! Awesome achievement! Must get on a plane soon and push things along.

My Congrats too. I should have LTG in around 6 1/2 years at my current rate of travel (will have LTS around mid next year). By the time I hit LTS, around 6000 of those SC's will have been accumulated in the past 4-5 years. Thanks to this site, I went from being QP PS for the better part of 6 years, to WP within a year. Now i'm just not going back ;)

Congratulations, taswegian. I'm still trying to get there (doesn't help that my flying has taken a dive from a cliff, but I suppose wife, kids and GFC all helped ;))

Your problem, having achieved LTG, is what can you now aim for ?

Having got there myself last year I wonder how an obviously reasonable level of patronage can continue to be rewarded. Far as I know the only thing that remains might be chairman's club but you dont get a chance at that unless you control a travel budget of $1 mio+ - as a self employed person thats def not happening with me, so its sort of end of the QF line..

If I am safe enough with QF credit for another year I am starting to book SIA and others now...

What I have done is continue to attain WP annually then set my sights on Star Gold in the Star Alliance.

For me this with AirNZ, with whom, having attained their top level, I can search for flights that have upgrade availably, book the cheapest seats on them and upgrade immediately. Very useful for longhaul flights. (With AirNZ, upgrades can be had for any booked NZ flight on NZ metal, even Awards.)

Congratulations on your achievement..

320 SC's to go for me !!! Nov 29 !! 1 Day before my SC's reset and then start earning AA !!

Congratulations! Are you thinking of diverting some flights to Star from now on?
Funny you mention that. I am booked to go on my first SQ flight to Jakarta via SIN next week. I took the plunge and enrolled in Kris Flyer to get the benefits. I note it only takes 25,000 miles for Silver and 50,000 miles for Gold. I am booked in business and will earn 10,500 miles on this trip so on my way. Also I am flying the A380 both legs and I note that the business seat is claimed to be 34 inches wide. Now that is a massive difference to the 21" in QF. I understand I will not get into the QF F lounge but I hear the QF J lounge in MEL is not bad and I can check out the SQ lounge if they have one in MEL. I am looking forward to checking out the renowed SQ service. It is actually interesting timing considering the latest changes QF have announced. I think I sohuld be able to get SQ Gold quite quickly and I have already requalified WP until June 2012 so will just play a waiting game to see whether the back lash instigates changes at QF. Ont he other hand if SQ is as good as they claim and I hear then I might be sold but still have my legs in QF until I report back from this trip. ! good travel experience is nto always an indicator of overall experience.

How is that possible? Requalifying for nearly two years?

Do enough flying in July through to October to requal early. In the case of the OP, they have had from July this year to get 1200SCs to ensure from July next year they are WP.

Thanks, markis10. Took me a while to get it, even after you explained - obviously a bad Sunday morning!

Let your anniversary date pass then immediately afterwards do a pile of flying.

eg. I'm stuffed next year due to current plans but July 2012 (my anniv is 30th June) will see me complete a status run in the US that will ensure when I return to Perth I will be a WP. It is then current for the rest of that year (app 11.5 months) and the following year.

5 years to reach LTG is a lot of flying in such a short time. Congrats, I hope you enjoy flying.

Don't expect much from the SQ lounges in Australia..!

Thanks for the heads up!. I can always go to the QF J lounge to compare the difference as have not been there since they upgraded it. I still have access into there even though I am flying SQ until Feb 2011. Anyway I am really looking forward to comparing SQ J on board vs QF J. By what I read it sounds liek SQ J on A380 will be much better than QF A380 J.
