Qf77/78 -> qf315/316
Edit: didn't realise there was a thread already, please close.
So I've been watching my bookings like a hawk since the Tragic Thursday of 27/2, when QF77/78 was announced to be cut from May. I've had two forward bookings of QF77/78 return for the year after May, and was watching when they would switch me over to 'Qantas Lite' (i.e. probably what the Qantas BOD thinks of Jetstar).
QF 77 becomes QF315 (a.k.a 3K131) with a time change of 30 mins or so, and the reverse QF78 becomes QF316 (a.k.a. 3K132), which have been flying side by side QF77/78 for the past year or so.
Flight details on QF315/316 says Meal: Available for Purchase, Fare being Class O. Reading around the forums, it appears that Class O does not accrue SCs and QFFPs?
If this is true, then I would have paid for 2x return tickets on a FSC, but in turn receiving LCC service.
Differences would be, off the top of my head:
1. No IFE, the Rockwell Collins systems on the A333 wasn't flash, but it would be a godsend compared to none, since these are day flights.
2. No meals provided, again, wasn't flash food, but better than nothing.
3. No status credits or frequent flyer points on O fare. Being a SG means I stand to lose circa 17,000 points for those 2 return trips.
4. No choice of seats, being only offered aisle or window.
5. Obviously no upgrade available to business class.
You would have thought that Qantas being a FSC would mean they would rebook you on another FSC. It would be unthinkable for SQ, for example, to book their passengers on TZ or god forbid, TR.
Anyone else affected this way as well? Just ranting I suppose, but I find this a somewhat ridiculous move from Qantas.
