Except that announcement was in relation to the domestic lounges NOT international.

There were two announcements in Feb, one was for domestic with the announcement that BNE would take back the lease, and improve the terminal lounges in Domestic. The other was for the BNE international lounge, along with LAX and HKG, bringing them inline with SINs standard.

Which confirms exactly the point I was making. Only the BNE domestic lounges are to be revamped. Nothing to suggest that the BNE international lounges would change as the other post suggested.

I think you misread my post, International is being upgraded to bring it inline with Singapore, it was in the results slides.

No point paying for an upgrade of something you dont lease long term anymore which is the case with the domestic.

We all know that if QF were going to upgrade the BNE International lounge they would have announced it 4 or 5 times already and not deliver it until 2020....

The phrase "New lounge in HKG" is an 'enhancement' of the English language.

Renovating the First Lounge to a Business Lounge and closing down the old Business Lounge.

Simpler. Fairer.

next will there be an FU surcharge?

Isn't this one?
But Serfty is on the money. As a surcharge it can be added to the "taxes" on a xONEx ticket. If it was an increase in base fare it could not.
Definitely a fairer change.:p;)

What next are they going to put a surcharge on Friday afternoon flights.

The price reflects that so why a surcharge.

Why don't they just buy a new A380 and put it on DFW runs so they can sell more tickets each day! Plus it will be more reliable and not need to refuel in HNL/NAN/AKL thereby saving money.

Is it really more efficient over that range and at the weights needed? My readings would suggest otherwise.

You would need more than one A380 to do the SYD-DFW-BNE-SYD rotation on a daily basis. Might also be useful for you to check figures on fuel consumption and tank capacity of the A380 vs B744-ER.

Must be an April fools joke, they can't be serious! Do they really want people to fly with them???
