re: QF trans tasman sale

Given the unsourced copy and paste was dated yesterday, I would have thought tomorrow was today. But doesn't seem to be

Good to see some good deals to NZ may well partake of one or two.

What is it though with QF not getting anything right on its web site at the moment. Wrong date released to agents lol

QF charging a premium over their own 737 in business for the EK A380s. $599 for QF metal, $637 for EK on QF code.

Also have you noticed if you book Auckland to Melbourne in First on the QF webiste as part of a return the cost is $1186.00 for that sector in First yet if you book Auckland to Melb as a one way then it is $1191.00 New Zealand Dollars approx $1030.00 so just over $150.00 cheaper

Now doing a return Mel - Auckland First is AUD $2419.00, yet booking Auckland to Melb all in First return comes out to NZD$2436.00 or AUD $2108.00 some AUD $310.00 cheaper.

Why are we paying more?

Aus to NZ is always more, blame the airport and security charges

But on a return flight shouldnt that equal out as you are still flying AUK-MEL and MEL-AUK its just a matter of which leg comes first. Or are you telling me that if your flights originate in NZ then they charge local bookings less than they do those that are departing on the same flight yet booked in a different country?

I think you will always find differences in flights booked out of each country, I always look at both countries sites for precisely this reason.

Sorry didnt spot that. I think they may just charge what they think the market will bear, as others have said a few times. cheers

QF Sale SYD-AKL $199.

That is not that special at all. Wasn't it $179 recently?

From memory I was able to get BNE-WLG on sale last year for the same price as BNE-AKL.Obviously the flight is via SYD but ever since then the BNE-WLG flight is not that special at all. Well not to me anyway.

Sorry, my earlier post had the wrong prices. It's $681 for EK bird (not $637). There is actually a different fare basis - on a return, it's $160 more all up...only for business though...

The Australian Departure tax was $57 last time I looked. Nothing like that amount ex NZ - so that $199 ex OZ is $152 for the return leg.

Having done T-T 100+ times most of my travel was booked ex NZ to save $$$ ... ;)

Its not much of a sale. They had the sale fare of $1314 return before the sale started for J return SYD/AKL on EK metal with QF codeshare in the first week of the flights being released.

Are the SCs from a trans-Tasman sale J class fare the same as an ordinary J class fare in this instance?

Just booked a return fare to AKL ex MEL for $350. $199 on QF metal the way there and then $150 on EK the way back. Had to resist booking J on the return trip...

If you book in F on the EK 388 with but the QF8xx_ flight number, do you get F points and SCs ?
If so might be a goer for my DSC - 480SCs (return flight from mel) is nothing to scoff at. Plus get to experience their suite albeit for only 3.5-4hrs.
