Last week, flew QF93 in F to LAX with a colleague.

had a very nice glass of Tatt pre-take-off. Then, 2 hours into a 13 hour flight I was joined by my colleague and we requested a second glass for myself and a (first) glass for him.

no luck. 2 hours into a 13 hour flight and its all gone. FA didn't suggest that some unforeseen loading issue caused this... Just that they'd run out. We were offered J class bubbles. No thanks, had the red instead.

talking to a FA in J on the following QF flight from LAX to JFK, she told me that QF has drastically cut the amount of champagne they are loading... And to 'please complain... Because we are tired of having to tell pax that we have run out'. I don't know how true this is, but if it is, it's pretty bloody appalling.

ill be letting QF know about this today, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

There was plenty on my recent flight but I have had one experience on a J flight from SYD to LAX late last year (on QF11) when the champagne ran out halfway through the lunch service and they could only offer sparkling after that. I was shocked! :o

I was on Syd to SIn last year in First with my wife and was given a bottle of the Tattinger as I disembarked to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary in a few days time when the FA had a chat to us. We were not looking for anything and it was most appreciated.

Right. So that's where it's all going...

Oh no my blood ran cold when I read the title - I so look forward to some nice bubbly when flying - about the only thing I drink....I usually only have 2 glasses, so would be seriously miffed if I could only have one. Given what you pay for F (and we always are paid, not upgrades), it wouldn't be acceptable. My stress levels are now very high about our trip to Hong Kong in August.

Like a previous poster I might have added to the drought - coming back from LAX last year on the final leg of a 6 week AONE4, I was feeling a bit depressed at the thought of returning to the daily drag. This got through to my lovely FA and she gave me a bottle of Tattinger to take home to ease the pain......

So the lesson for this thread is: come up with a reason you need to take a bottle of champagne with you....

Flew to HKG last January, and the Tatt ran out and was offered J Charles Heidsieck instead... must admit I managed more than two glasses before that occurred however.

So the moral of the story is to drink quickly to ensure a fair share :). If this is a deliberate policy a bit silly really - they only have a few flights left that offer F - surely they can stock them properly - or is this a consequence of half the cabin being upgrades? Maybe RedRoo can clarify....

Last July on a SYD-HKG FASA there were only 3 others in the First cabin and I think I probably had one of the 2000 Tattinger bottles to myself over the first couple of hours. I guess that was probably just luck. Would be unfortunate if someone who pays full fare couldn't grab a second glass!

Please private message me the details so I can follow up for you.

Maybe QANTAS should implement something similar to SIA's "Book The Cook" for First with regard to how many bottles of Champagne each passenger requires, then there should be no problems.

I don't mind the Heidsieck in J (scored a take away as well due to equipment failure). But BA has Tattinger in Club World.

Which Tattinger? The NV is fine, but the Comtes de Champagne vintage which is what Qantas has in F, is seriously nice.

your blood ran cold? because the thought of not enough bubble? and it's stressing you out.

Must be real hard.

We were offered a bottle of champagne by the delightful French cabin crew in our A380 flight from Heathrow but had to decline as we were only transiting through Singapore to Australia.

Pu Koh, you seem to take delight at saying stuff like this. It is after all a FF travel forum and at the rates people here travel and the prices they pay then maybe these threads just aren't where ypur talents are best used.
