Really? You consider $10/SC a good deal. To me that is a very average sort of deal. I would say 80 SCs for $400 is a good deal and 120 SCs for $500 is a much better deal. And that is without getting to the US where it is possible to get much much better SC deals.

Sigh, may Finnair one day bring back the HKG and SIN status express ex BKK

Yes, they were the days. But the deals I mentioned are available you just need to overnight in KUL or SIN.

With my limited opportunities to fly within Australia, or maybe to NZ my average $ / SC is $15 so, yes, in my situation it is a good deal. :)

That is a good QF price. But I think LA SYD-AKL-SYD is still better if you don't mind getting up at "Half past "Oh My God"" on th return sector.
... or buying them AKL-SYD-AKL for around $US850 is even better. The SC's are a lot cheaper that way. I guess it depends what you are after.

How about this:

PER-SYD-AKL-SYD-PER $2748 return for 320 SC's. (travelling in Jan + avail)
Works out to $8.58/SC.

Now if I throw in my $300 QF voucher it gets even lower:

$2448 for 320 SC's.
Works out to $7.65/SC.

Can anyone find better ex PER?

And quickly satisfies the 4 segment rule ;)

I had thought that SYD-CBR-MEL-CBR-SYD would be my choice if I ever really wanted QF status again.
