Thought this could be fun to spin up amongst a group of people that tend to use the website heavily, as that's who we go to at work for feature requests on our websites.

Redroo,
could we please make destinations on the Qantas website searchable by only airport code? It's really frustrating Perth automatically correcting to Imperatiz (Brazil).

While we're at it could we also make award seats out of Doha searchable? Though I appreciate that may be a tougher ask ;)

Also, filtering award seats by carrier would be greatly appreciated. Very hard to view availability if you don't want EK or JQ.

Anything else that bugs AFF'ers we might be able to pass on?

Excellent topic....Subscribed.

How about when searching for awards, show all classes without having to check Premium, business and first boxes.

More thorough searches. Melbourne to Orlando should show via Dubai, not just via lax/dfw

Hehe i regularly use airport codes when searching too.

how about the fact multi city bookings can't be made / searched on the mobile site. In addition the travel class selector doesn't work if using the full site multi city search page on a mobile. Its like you dont want me to go business or something.

Or perhaps that the qantas hotels website search doesn't work on an ipad. The search button literally doesn't work.

Should I go on about how the andriod mobile app kept crashing on me when my fights changed due to a delay on the day of travel. So frustrating trying to figure out what's happening when overseas when the app cant handle that scenario.

Anyway there are some really good things i like about the website to balance this rant out.
Points calculators, facts i can book activities through it and get points,

In addition to the above it'd be good to:
See points and SC's to be earned on upcoming bookings. Even better if we could link other OneWorld/EK booked flights into same.
Have a 'Change for Good' donation opportunity on check out - I don't use the headsets on board but I always have a credit card when I book.
Be able to search for redemptions on the basis of knowing where you want to go but don't care when, eg I want a J reward to EU return sometime in the next 6 months, show me my options.

The EK website has a not sure where/when to fly feature that allows you to get suggestions based on parameters, like a destination guide, but much better. Could do with one of them, especially as the network starts growing again :p

Good thread idea, I have a couple, if you could add these please:

  1. I want to save my ABN in the profile page of my Frequent Flyer Account
  2. Let me set the default city under "From" when searching for flights, rather than always defaulting to Sydney
  3. When booking International flights, please show more OW flights, or let me nominate to show them.
  4. Add seat selection to the very first page of the My Bookings page so we have "Manage, Upgrade & Seats"
  5. If it's not too greedy, I would like to select seating through the App rather than being taken to Qantas website inside the app.

Thank you very much!

When selecting cabin class for FF redemptions, the little chairs for each class should be colours that are easily distinguishable for those who are colour blind. They all look the same to me :(

My pleas please:

- A workable multi-city engine that can cope with: multiple sectors (shock) on regular QF and OneWorld / EK routes; mixed class legs; and won't direct you to QF or a lower class flight with a partner airline.
- Ability to save multi-city searches as 'favourites'
- Ability to show more classes on a single flight segment or multi-city search

I also like other suggestions above. I'd love to say bringing back ASAs, but I won't. I am now used to the website and despite too much advertising of extraneous options, it is generally good and works fine. The multi-city engine is the biggest failure. It would be nice to play around with more options and not have to call even to get a rough price.

Awesome idea, it could be part of the information area which currently advises you how many SCs you need to retain/attain a particular level.

Another idea long overdue.

When searching for flights i hate having to reenter my specific search parameters on every search. E.g. class of travel.

Only one warning that data transmitted over the Internet might be seen by others is required. Not for every search.

Allow the purchase of multiple gift vouchers in one transaction, especially when bonus points are offered. :)

Lots more to come I'm sure.

When logging into your frequent flyer account, it would be good if you could see when your points are due to expire.

(Why isn't this happening already??)

Points or SC's?

Point dont expire if you have some activity every so often.
SC expire every year. But the wheel once your login should give you a good indication of when that is highlighting your Membership Anniversary.

I would assume points as the profile already the membership year expiry.

To the OP, I don't agree with the airport code suggest as it would cause more grief than good. This can be evidenced by the number of members on here who don't use the correct codes as it is (MLB, SNG, DBX or DUB.... The list goes on).

i hate when you search for award seats and select business / first and the results returned are economy and you have to then click business and first

- Agree, more robust multi city bookings. ie currently you can only have 3 sectors in one calendar day.
- when looking at multi city something that acknowledges a certain flight exists but has no tickets available. ie I often know a flight exists but it doesn't come up in a QF search but does in google flights or similar it would be nice to know if the flight is not available rather than invisible.
- Thinner rows in the table to select flights. Currently there is way to much scrolling.

Subscribing and getting the popcorn ready. I suspect this will be a lot of hot air resulting in no change, but maybe I'm benig cycnical.

I agree with many of the changes listed so far.

Would be good to be able to search for multiple departure points and destinations in the one search. For example if I want to go to Nth America I might not care whether I depart from BNE, SYD or MEL and I'd be happy to enter at LAX, JFK or any other port of entry. Would eliminate having to do multiple searches when looking for award availability.
