So we all have our preferences, and I haven't yet flown the hard product of Y+ in the A380, only the 747. QF auto-allocated 34F for me, with these other seats available. I'm contemplating moving to 38D for extra leg room and to be away from the risk of being moved by a family needing the bassinet. Don't necessarily mind flying next to a child, though.

What would you do?
I'd love to nab 34A or F, but they seem to be gone. Could try the plat line during the week to see if they're really gone/ Not sure if I will bother attempting a points upgrade. My QF107/108 points upgrade requests last year were unsuccessful.

Haven't flown PE on an A380 but the extra legroom in 38D looks good.
What about 34J?

(I'd apply for the upgrade too :p)

What about 34J? further away from any babies if there are any, you probably won't get moved- and unless you're really tall, the bulkhead is enough space.. 34 is nice and quiet.. 38 you'll have people walking past and infront of you + a little toilet noise.

I've been in 38F before and the extra legroom is good, but should also beware there's a fair bit of foot traffic through there, I had my feet kicked a couple times during the flight.

I'd probably go 34J out of the two.

38F has the most leg room if you value that over other factors, however it may also have extra foot traffic from J passengers using the PE toilets.

One issue with 34J is the person in 34K climbing over you to get out. If you are in 34F and the people in 34DE are together, you *may* not have that issue to "worry" about - they will both use the D side aisle to exit. On the other hand row 34 gets served meals first if that is something you value. Not that the service is slow by any means if you are in row 38...

Best seats if travelling solo would be 38 K, J, F (in that order) if you can get them. Maybe keep looking every couple of days or so, or check right at T-24.

Funnily enough I found the service in PE better than J on the A380. Maybe something to do with the smaller cabin and dedicated FAs? I don't know what the ratio of J FAs : pax is compared to PE.. anyone know?

I'd take 34J in a heartbeat. There's generally sufficient room for 34K to exit. If you have E/F, set a seat alert for 38J/K; someone may upgrade.

I have travelled trans-pac in 34D with PAX and Bub in 34E; 'twas ok.

Worst pitch are the D/E/F seats in rows 35, 36, 37 & 39 - avoid.

+1 for 34J and keep on checking for 38JK

Good timing on this thread - managed to get 38F outbound (JK both blocked) and 38K inbound.

Was on 38F recently on flight from Lax-Mel, IMO would not hesitate to grab any of these seats in row 38. I found that they had more than enough leg room. Y+ was full and did notice any foot traffic that was annoying. Have been behind a bulkhead before and prefer the extra leg room.

No not so good, as someone else mentioned there is a lot of passing traffic so easy to get hit in the night, especially the D and E seats as that's the side the dunny's are on. Also not too fused with PE on the A380. Being right in the tail you get whipped around every time the a/c hits a 'bump'. Not comfortable at all.

Hmm, well I've nabbed 34J for now. Will keep an eye on the seats available to see if 38 J or K come up. Might also ut in a points upgrade request; should enough points for that.

Am very happy to have nabbed a seat in row 29 for the 747 on the way to LAX. ;) That'll help make up for travelling on Mother's day away from my daughter and my Mum. (Praying for no equipment change!)
