Because there is nothing in PER. A whimsical exploration of the possibilities

Except a city of 2+m which makes the flight commercially viable. Without PER QF9/10 would have gone the way of all the other QF LHR flights over the years (ceased to exist).

I don't think so. Perth could come close to supporting it by itself, but most of the 9's previous traffic from the east coast deserted to other flights or airlines.

Of course it has to stop for fuel :) before it departs the Australian continent. But its more than just a stop.
Getting on/off the aircraft - that happens at PER and DRW now and can similarly happen at the other placed I mentioned.

Surprised you havnt suggested the Cocos islands!

Actually no it doesn’t. It could stop for fuel in SIN (remember where QF 1/2 used to travel through), and change over passengers there too.

Or it could probably organise a fuelling stop elsewhere enroute, without passengers deplaning, CMB is half way, why not there?
