QF1 F/J award space totally non-existent?

it's been impossible as a SG to see any awards in U/P for QF 1/2/9/10. been religiously searching daily at time of release and nothing

I'm thinking that QF have just elected not to release any premium cabin space to LHR.....almost another "enhancement". also it's near impossible to get D/I inventory on these flights over most of the 2nd half of 2018

In hindsight, when I was searching for SYD-DXB award space in F, it was a month or two before the announcement that they were pulling out of DXB, so perhaps they'd already killed off availability in preparation for that. However now that the new SIN-LHR schedules are locked in, it sounds as though it's still next to impossible to find anything, which is a shame for the punters but presumably a sign of ruthless yield management by QF.

I'd also note that QF have had lower fares in J and F for the past few months to the UK which probably has sold a few seats and they would have allocated a few award seats and have had them gobbled up already.

I have seen QF release F seats close in to departure on some routes (LAX most recently) but it is rare to be sure.

I'd also say this without meaning to be rude, but when it comes to award sace in cabins like F and one wants to use for specific reasons then perhaps beggars shouldn't be choosers specially basing an issue with EK on one sector. I find EK generally very good, but you do get the odd "off" experience (like in any area). And well a shower is something you just can't gert on QF. That aside, really when one sees an option that isn't totally ridiculous or most of the way in Y or something then probably best to grab it and consider changing later if something better comes along given the demand for these premium seats is far higher than the supply.

my 2 cents.

btw be aware as from April 2018 the APDs are being raised again by our friends in the UK which will make reward tickets (and revenue) that much more costly. So departing from Eurpe might be an idea to look for carriers like EK out of places like Dublin, Paris or AMS.

I would agree and disagree with some of the comments made. I was looking a couple of weeks back for AU (any location) to NYC, I was looking to go the long way as I could have seen some family in the UK then onwards to NYC in late Mar early Apr 18, I was happy with J but would prefer F. When looking I could see EK F availability ex BNE and PER to JFK via DXB but no options that included LHR.

I ended up ringing QF to see if there were any other J options that I could not see (JL, AY) during the conversation I mentioned that I would travel QF F however there nothing available, from memory, in any class. The agent put in a request and I was offered F on QF1 on any day in the last week of Mar via SIN.

From recent experience the availability on line is pretty poor (even at P1), however the requesting process seems to have improved, i.e. seats being made available.
