QF12 A380 or 747?

I am on QF12 Jfk - Syd on 8 July (Fri) - I remember reading that there are only PE seats on the JFK - LAX flight. I am at present travelling economy L ans was hoping to upgrade to J with points. Am I mistaken about PE seats only or are there business seats on the 747 to LAX? How many points do I need for a L to J upgrade JFK - SYD? What are my chances? I am QF Gold.

On all flights from BNE,SYD,MEL to LAX,SFO,DFW, there are PE seats. The tag flights between LAX-JFK-LAX (B747) will also have PE seats.

If the aircraft is A380 there will be F,J,PE,Y
If the aircraft is reconfigured B747 there will be J,PE,Y
If the aircraft is unreconfigured B747 there will be J,PE,Y but the first 4 rows of J are actually the old F seats.

Im still seeing QF12 11 July as A380.

Are you able to do a dummy booking for a F fare on that flight?. If so then its an A380

It can't cope with the change of aircraft or change of seats.
My current booking is for 5J on JFK-LAX and moving upstairs to row 11 on LAX-SYD.
The App/ mobile site shows me in a 747 row 11 and can't see the A380 cabin at all or my correct seat on the domestic sector.

Must be it. Didn't think of that given I'm boarding at LAX not JFK*.

* I'm actually flying in from JFK to connect with QF12 however, I'm doing that sector on an AA 321 T-con :mrgreen:
