oh sorry i didnt realise, the dates i picked all had 380. So was referring to the 380. Hoping for some Y seats upstairs.

It is a bit of a lottery as to whether or not you will get a re-configured 380. I wouldn't hold your breath, as it can change fairly quickly.

I don't think QF have published a schedule as to what routes will get the re-config birds.

No,

There is a small economy section behind PE in the new configuration.

From the top of my head I recall they've removed a lounge, made J smaller, shifted W up and added Y seats on the end of the upper deck and removed a couple of toilets...

A reduction of 8 J seats, increase of 3 W seats, and an increase of 39 Y seats. All in all cramming an extra 34 pax onto a plane with less toilets.

And on the note of reconfig A380s the second one is now flying (unless I'm slow and behind the times)
OQD and OQE.

My last QF127 flight in Sept was the new config, so it does or has flown 127/128. But with only 2(or now 3?) of the new config of the 12(??) A380 Qantas has, its probably a lottery as to which config flies which routes at which times till they are all converted.

I love upper deck Y...I am happy for Qantas to be changing the entire fleet

Not confirmed. I thought I saw it when I was searching for flights but checking again now still A380 and 747 on the route into at least July 2013 which is good news.
