A different sound to this aircraft on approach overhead just now. Ahh, because it’s climbing back to 6500ft.

Maybe the first was a missed approach but the second appears to be an orbit.

Left BNE late so pax onboard probably not happy.

Still orbiting. 6500 ft is too small a target for my phone camera to catch anything more than a white speck. Gear remains up for the orbits.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous day here too in the capital region.

Yep. Watched it go past on normal landing glide slope. Let’s see if the photo shows anything.

Maybe there was a problem with the main runway at CBR and it had to hold.

This was my view with the aircraft at orbiting altitude. (camera makes it appear smaller than with naked eye)

But then a Dash 8-300 landed on the smaller cross runway at CBR whilst this E190 was still orbiting.

I see the Link SF340’s use that rwy regularly and the QF Dash 8’s only rarely. I think only the Dash 8 -200 and -300s. Not sure I’ve ever checked whether the larger -Q400’s can use it.

As the E190 was still in an orbit, a JQ A320 from MEL came in.

Then finally QF1903 could make a proper approach.

All’s well that ends well. Except for the pax being 2:15 late…
