QF296 Cabin lights remained on overnight

Last week I was on QF296 in Y (BKK >SYD Finnair Service) which is an overnight service, departed around 6PM with 6AM arrival. The cabin lights were left on all night. After departure I figured it was due to the meal service and eventually they would be dimmed, I think they were dimmed slightly but certainly not the "night" setting. I was really tired so I dosed in and out of sleep but each time I woke I noticed the lights still on. By the time I realised the lights weren't going to be dimmed sufficiently I had enough broken sleep that I wasn't going to be able to sleep again so I didn't ask the crew about it. It really occurred to me when they dimmed the cabin lights for landing and I realised that the lights had been about 80% brighter than this the entire flight.

I haven't flown this return service before or an overnight on Finnair, is this normal? Any thoughts to why they remained on a bright setting? I've flown plenty with QF and others and normally the cabin is fairly dark at night, with the lights only turned back on for meal services and mid flight snack.

I get bothered by all kinds of lights eg Screen lights etc so I always have a stretchy bandana I put over the top half of my head. I hate those elastic band style masks. It's usual practise to dim after meal service though.

I haven't flown this return service before or an overnight on Finnair, is this normal?
Was on QF292, the Finnair operated flight from SIN, on Monday night.
They turned the lights off shortly after the supper service ended and turned them on during the breakfast service before turning them off again for the last 40ish mins of the before they started getting everything ready to land.
