From the 9th May QF51/52 will be a 744 sold as two class service, some good seating opportunities will exist.

Is this temporary or permanent? Seems odd not to sell 3 class unless it's a temporary change?

Or perhaps they intend to use the two class 744s prior to refitting as 3 class?

Bummer, it's lousy that if you want Y+ to lhr ex bne you have to go via syd or mel, or cop y to sin.

Isn't that a BNE-BOM service QF 51 / 52 ( technical stop in Singapore ) , Please Correct me if I am wrong.

But if I am right , can someone tell me where can look at the seating chart of the 2 class 744's which they might use ??

The flight number continues through to BOM, it seems that it's the ADL aircraft that continues on to BOM (ADL-SIN operates same days as SIN-BOM and vice versa). Although I could be wrong! EF lists the aircraft operating BNE-BOM as a 404  In reality it shows BNE-SIN as 744 and SIN-BOM still as 333.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( I wanted the 744 all the way up to BOM - I hate the 330 , it is really cold near exit rows , and window seats.

Something smart I noticed that as the 330's anyways get cold CX don't have the air-con vents that Qantas have next to the reading lights , and surprisingly all are open even if it is an empty flight.

Need to head to SIN around then, so checked it out. Found 3 different seatmaps on 3 consecutive days... double check EF if you're wanting a free seat upgrade from a Y ticket :)

theqantassoruce suggests it's temporary, up until July 4.

I think its a redeployment of the NRT capacity, BNE is not a bad place to get a flight from if heading to LAX or SIN at the moment.

According to Airline Route, this has been extended to Sept

On Brisbane – Singapore service, Boeing 747-400 operates from 09MAY11 to 20SEP11, instead of until 04JUL11. Sydney – Tokyo Narita Boeing 747-400 operation reduced to 3 weekly from 10MAY11 until 15SEP11, instead of until 03JUL11.

I think it's time for a trip to SIN to be planned, not often you can get a nice seat for low $$$.

A shame all my overseas travel has already been booked through to end of October. It would have been nice to fly the 747 in/out of Brisbane.

We are on this, SIn-BNE on 12 May. I was surprised when I was selecting seats that I could select upper deck - took a while to sink in that there were more than 5 rows of J!

My Y+ flight on 14/5 BNE-LAX and LAX-BNE on 19/5 were still 3 class 747s last time I looked (not 2 class being sold as 3 :( ). Should double-check.

At $788 return ex BNE until Jul 31 a trip to SIN is on the cards!

As for checking your LAX flights I would, for instance this morning OJM operated QF16 which is a 4 class bird.

And my QF email is advertising BNE-Mumbai at $1139 on QF51/52 until 14/9.

We are on QF 51 in October (BNE-SIN) booked in 38A & 38C - can any one tell me if these seats have the same cutouts that Row 40 does in the 4 class 747?
