Qf566 Per-syd

well, too many bad experiences recently with QF481, so, fingers crossed, am booked on QF485 tomorrow am. However, it's still a 743, and with the fog, it may end up being just as bad as flying tonight would have been....

I was lucky on Monday, I had my TA book the latest flight out of MEL to PER, so I ended up leaving on time, the 2040 flight. Though the guy in front of me reclined fully for pretty much the whole flight so maybe I would have been better off taking the 747... He had an exit row too, so I was pretty annoyed. ( I know, it's his right and all that, but still).

Least I got out of MEL in a reasonable hour.

Jon

QF583 SYD-PER (747-300) delayed two hours and then cancelled last night. This meant its return from Perth (the midnight departure) was also cancelled.

QF566 at 4.15pm delayed until midnight today. The inbound operating aircraft, QF577, still hasn't left SYD (currently 5pm WST). The upside is it's been changed from a B743 to an A333. He's hoping for an op-up!

Hi Danger,

With less J on a A333 I think you will find some people taking a downgrade just to get on.:(

743's run 52 J A333's only have 30, and from my experience flying this route weekly J is normally full.

Thanks, ejb. I just checked EF and its showing
J8 D8 I0 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 X9 E9
which seems strange, I know.

Hopefully others took advantage of the 2.30pm departure to Sydney or routed via Melbourne or Adelaide.

that does seem weird. If true and you have points available I would be upgrading in the QP tonight and take advantage of the skybeds.

I came to Perth this morning on the 6.10am and slept like a baby in 5A.:)

I would say the points you use to upgrade would be well spent on the skybeds as opposed to dreamtime.

Agreed. Except this is a non-upgradeable fare, although I'll be putting the pressure on given this is my second eight hour delay on 566 in about four months.

Much to my surprise I did get a complimentary upgrade. I think the lady in the lounge found it quite refreshing to not have an angry passenger getting stuck into her for a delay that obviously wasn't her fault.

Well done on the op-up!

I have found recently the staff in the PER QP are becoming a lot more helpful than in previous years, maybe due to the amount of time we all spend there with delays.

I trust you enjoyed the bed and had a great flight.
