I am not sure about the logic of the middle of the day meaning a flight won't be subbed. Indeed if it's not a peak business travel time it's possibly MORE likely to get downgraded IMO (but it also depends on aircraft and crew rotations).

5:30+ hrs on a 737 has been my limit SIN-DEL and MEL-NAD but I think that was more an issue of my 120kg and the seat padding optimised for smaller passengers...
