So when the plane was being fuelled, the person quashed something and mechanic were trying to fix it. We were notified probably well after departure time of 10pm. When the pilots came out, one knew not good news.
We were taken to Mariott in Addison. Our bus driver got lost, all part of the deal.
I was told the part will be sent from Sydney or California, lets go for California. Majority of people are in good spirits.
I really feel for staff at this hotel. Our waitress told us this was her first waitressing job and will have nightmares for a long time. Staff are doing a great job, one barman, one waitress, one supervisor plus check-in staff.
Meals, room being paid by qf.
I'm feeling like this is an adventure.

QF8 yesterday did not have a happy time either popping into AKL, as was the intention with your flight.

Are they hitting extra winds or have they gone different routing at the moment?

Update, the information sheets we were given this morning state a flt. had sustained damage to a door during transit. There is an 8pm flt. direct to Bne and 10pm going through Auckland.
We have been looked after very well. I thought I would try my luck at upgrade, even tho. under 24 hrs., but hoping the circumstances would make a difference. Does the worldwide number ever answer, gave up and went with Oz. numer. Unfortunately, system not able to override the upgrade process. It was worth a try.
I felt I was on an episode of lost last night as our driver got lost and we went to the wrong marriott. Has created a sense of comardarie with some of us 'lost' bus folk. All good.
For someone who never stays at a hotel without review through tripadvisor, this has been a learning lesson for me. Hotel very clean.
Back to the drink once I hit the lounge this afternoon.
 
Sounds like someone is going to get into some trouble in regards to damaging the plane.

Generally the hotels airlines use to put PAXS up in are very good.
