On 28th October 2012, Qantas will do it's first commercial flight to the Gold Coast in nearly 5 years.

I've spoke to a few AFF'ers over the past 24hrs about the flight. I think there's about 6 or 7 booked on it so far. Who's attending? Are we thinking of heading to samh004's house for the AFF6 Lunch? Any other plans? I'm heading back around 2100 that evening to Melbourne. With 3am wakeup to get onto QF400 MEL-SYD, I'll most likely be very tired!

Put me down as a Platinum.
I'll be training it back to brissy somepoint in the arvo (No lounge at train station :-( )

Unfortunately I won't be on that flight as I'll already be on the Gold Coast.

I will be on QF865 from OOL-SYD later that day though :)

Put me down as Platinum. I am on QF400 MEL-SYD and QF860 SYD-OOL. Will be in the J Lounge in MEL and SYD thanks to JessicaTam. Happy to share transport costs in OOL and will be driving myself to MEL from St Kilda Rd if anyone needs a lift.

Normally I would, but I will already be on the Gold Coast for AFF #6, and will be participating in the golf challenge at the time of the inaugural flight.

If you join us for lunch, I shall see you, otherwise I fly out of OOL in the evening, so may catch some of you at the airport.

I'll be waving from somewhere between Longreach and Burke (as I fly back from Cairns)

For people wanting an upgrade on the inaugural flight, i don't think this will be happening as all the Business fare buckets have been exhausted. AJ will probably be on the flight too i'm assuming.

You sure ?
Its showing that I can request an upgrade on the page on Qantas.

In my experience., that doesn't mean anything...its probably just the default setting.

Also on flight.
Attending the bbq and booked back on DJ540 at 1800

In Pleb class
EF shows J0 C0 D0 I0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O8 G0 E0
Have booked as far forward as I can, appears to be 3 CL/WP1s in Row 4, with remainder of 4/5 still blocked.
Pretty minimal seat selection throughout the cabin...

T-80 at 1am Wed night/Thu morn.

At a minimum would expect a fire engine at OOL.

(Have had one of those at BNE that they rolled out for a pilots last flight about two years, 734 guy who had started out as a 3rd seat in the early 747s)

Quite empty?

Except for J...

My OOL-SYD later on that day on the other hand...
J8 C7 D6 I0 Y4 B4 H4 K4 M3 L2 G0 E0

Hopefully Y "inherits" some of the J seats
