Hey all

I am booked to fly on QF87 in the coming weeks in business. I am wondering if anyone else has flown it recently? Any idea on the current menu and if we get PJ's on the day flight?

I have been noticing a few delays on the route, hopefully it wont be anything major on the day.

Cheers,

No JimJams as it's a daytime flight (even though it arrives mid evening)

Delays?. That's just the fact of life when travelling with commercial airlines. Are you travelling onwards after arriving into ICN or are you flying in from another port to SYd?

QF87 menu example from late last year

hopefully it wont be anything major on the day.

It was for me when I flew a few months ago. It was scheduled at 11:40, and we pushed back around 1800. I had just boarded a 0630 MEL-SYD flight when the first delay was notified - they were waiting on a communications part. Clearly, they couldn't sub, or it didn't make economic sense to sub the aircraft.

No PJs - if they did, they probably wouldn't have your size.

The menu - wow, where do you start? I was pleasantly surprised for once with the fish (I hope I got my flights right). I will post a menu, but I am a bit rushed at present.

QF87 - think QF19, except it travels for another 1-2 hours.

Any idea on the current menu and if we get PJ's on the day flight?

I will try to post one - Kimchi something plus the usual stars.

I took QF87 on December 2nd and we were delayed 3.5 hours with departure courtesy of a combination of factors -:

The operating aircraft (VH-QPC) arrived 55m late from HND and was initially directed to one of the remote bays. It then had to undergo a tyre pressure check for one particular tyre, meaning the aircraft had to remain stationary for 2 hours for pressures to normalise and provide an accurate reading. This pushed us past the magic midday hour, meaning that the remote bay could no longer be used for boarding and they had to wait for a gate to become available. That ended up being Gate 50, so completely the opposite side of T1 to where we would normally have been departing.

We eventually arrived into ICN at 00:00 local time - some 3hrs 35m behind schedule - meaning that all the usual transport options (i.e. AREX and Limousine Buses) had finished for the night. To their credit, Qantas had organised charter Limousine Buses to get people (largely) where they needed to be based on the standard bus routes.

As mentioned by @Quickstatus and @Sprucegoose there are no PJs as it’s a daytime flight.

I thought I had a photo of dessert as well, but it seems I may have been too busy enjoying it 😆
