CGK looks to be closer than SINDon't know why, but it appears they turned around near Cocos Keeling Islands and went to SIN.
But I guess there's a QF 789 crew in SIN to operate QF36 while no QF 789 crew in CGK, only A330 crew.CGK looks to be closer than SIN

But I guess there's a QF 789 crew in SIN to operate QF36 while no QF 789 crew in CGK, only A330 crew.
They can. It happened only this week when Australian crew went to London when the QF1 was badly delayed. The QF36 crew are AU B789 crew. They wouldn't operate to LHR.
I know the crewAre you speculating or do you have firm information? What’s your source?
That could in theory happen as well but the QF35/QF36 run only has 3 pilots
FR24's history for QF9 is interesting. Does QF re-use this number for a Dash 8 from Sydney to Orange? (23 June).
Additionally, on 22, 21 and 19 June it says that the flight was supposed to be from Sydney to Manila, but that the Dash 8 diverted to Orange instead.
Whats the cause of these anomalies? Incorrect interpretation of the underlying data?

But visa free entry into SIN v CGK might have been factored if PAX needed to deplane (to use that horrible American phrase). Where’s Tattoo when you need him?CGK looks to be closer than SIN
Of course they could. The QF36 crew are AU B789 crew. They wouldn't operate to LHR.
And they could in turn be used into Oz on a 787.In this case it'd be the QF1/2 A388 SIN-LHR/LHR-SIN UK crew that can operate on the QF9/10 as I believe they are dual rated.
This would not have been a consideration, at all. Medlink will tell you the best place to go from a medical point of view, and then, if you can make your aviation perspective align, you go there. But visa free entry into SIN v CGK might have been factored if PAX needed to deplane (to use that horrible American phrase).
I'd be very surprised if the 787 (QF9) crew are dual-rated and current on the 380 - there is such a massive backlog in training and recency at the moment. The QF36 crew are AU B789 crew. They wouldn't operate to LHR.

How about ‘disembark’??? Deplane is as dumb as ’down guage’…But visa free entry into SIN v CGK might have been factored if PAX needed to deplane (to use that horrible American phrase). Where’s Tattoo when you need him?
The London based cabin crew are trained on both A380 and 787 and have been since the 787 was introduced.I'd be very surprised if the 787 (QF9) crew are dual-rated and current on the 380 - there is such a massive backlog in training and recency at the moment.
Cabin crew. Never pilots.I'd be very surprised if the 787 (QF9) crew are dual-rated and current on the 380 - there is such a massive backlog in training and recency at the moment.
