Hi,

I am a Tasmanian (Hobart) and QFF member. We have our everyday rewards card hooked up to QFF membership and have been getting points at Big W perfectly and within a few days of spending.

Now to explain Tassie has a unique situation with Woolworths - our Woolworths supermarkets used to be called Purity and they had their own highly successful frequent shopper program. Woolworths eventually rebranded them as just plain Woolworths stores but kept the in-house frequent shopper program.

When Woolworths joined QFF rewards through the Everyday Rewards card program us Tasmanians were told that we would not earn FF points because the instore program would remain. However we were told that if we shopped online using HomeShop then we would earn FF points.

We have not been receiving FF points from our online Woolworths shopping and I just assumed we hadn't hooked things up properly and it was our fault.

However we were in Canberra for work last week and did an online shop for supplies and surprisingly a couple of days later we received Woolworths FF points into our QFF account so everything must be setup correctly.

It seems that Woolworths is denying Tasmanians QFF points even when shopping online. What is the experience of other Tasmanians? Are we all missing out or do I need to ring them and sort this out?

Thanks,
Dale.

I'd ring them if you have something in writing to say points are earned for online shopping. I'm not in Tassie, so just a general opinion.

Hi Dale

I'm also down here and get really peeved about this. No, I believe we Tasmanians are actively discriminated against by Woolworths. They give us a program called the Frequent Shopper Club which gives you a $20 voucher per so many points earned. The FSC is an historical throwback from when Woolworths bought out a Tasmanian grocery chain and was left with the program. BWS is also part of the FSC not EDR.

From their website: "The Woolworths Everyday Rewards program doesn’t operate in Tasmania as an alternative loyalty program is operating; The Frequent Shopper Club. We regularly review our programs and assess whether our products meet the needs of our customers and we will continue to monitor feedback regarding the Frequent Shopper Club and the Everyday Rewards program in Tasmania."

I have written them messages on the (blog) website asking for ff points via the EDR program but they are not interested. (Don't know what feedback they monitor) I really don't understand why they can't run both programs side by side and give people the option to choose which one.

Another voice would be great - please be loud

Hilary

(PS: Sorry Dale - didn't read your post properly and that you were talking online shopping)

I am also in Tasmania and find it discriminatory that we are not permitted to participate in the Everyday Rewards Program. I have raised this issue on this forum before and also emailed Woolworths .... to no avail. The Frequent Shopper Program is an old Purity promotion which is outdated and provides paltry rewards.
