QFF points for Airbnb booking

This one had rave reviews too. OK, might give it another go. AirBnB substitutes were awful, including one that was a share house! We were looking for an Apartment in Docklands/Southbank. Why it gave us that option is nonsensical.

We had the same experience in July - requested a property (five days before check-in) and were told only the DAY OF check in that it was unavailable. They then held the full amount on our cards for almost a week. Really poor. However, that's the only downside for me, have booked with airbnb with great experiences before and will continue to do so - they just need to address this side of things.

I tried again. Found a nice place. Sent request. Got to the part where I had to verify ID. Click the next page, select Australia and get message along the lines 'there are no Govt issue checks for your selected country'. And the drivers licence and passport text isn't a link. Sigh.

This is likely to drive up prices of Airbnb, as the property owners will have to pay for the points you get. Also, the more 'distributors' get their hands on the product, the more the service providers' compliance costs will increase and they will inevitably get passed on as well. The better compliance will probably be beneficial for renters, but again, will narrow the price differential with traditional stays.

first booking away - very happy with this, would be good to see some benefits for hosting which we also do

the platform keeps getting better and better

It appears this new partnership has got the accommodation industry all riled up: link

I use Airbnb weekly and started to book via the QF site the day they made the announcement.

I'm yet to see any points accrue and there is nowhere on the Airbnb receipt that indicates my QFF number. I hope they credit in due time, but wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of stuff up. The hand-off between the two websites seems a little amateurish.

Has anyone else had Airbnb earned points appear in their activities as yet?

Have you completed the stay?

In that case I would suggest a call to QF to see what gives.

Edit: The T&Cs say up to 8 weeks for the points to post. Hotel and Airbnb terms and conditions | Qantas

Thanks Jessica,

I should be amongst the first to have them post if the transfer arrangements have been properly validated. Eight weeks may mean a manual task.

Not all that big of a deal as this arrangement was nothing that I would have ever expected to add to the points balance. In bed with the Uber of accomodation. We can't stop change and this alliance may turn out to be genius or not.

For the record I have had Airbnb booking points credited for 11th,18th and 25th of October on 9th December.

Just realised this is an option, but need to delete a pre approval and reapply via QF. Cannot find where to cancel a pre-approval?

EDIT: I have the answer .. you as a guest cannot cancel a pre-approval. The host can and it does not show on their account as a cancellation.

Any updated data points? Booked a room earlier this morning, for tonight - will be interesting to see how long it takes to post.

Points normally don't post until weeks after your stay.
