Yeah burrco was just pointing out he doesn't have any official friends on here either...
ahh, I didn't pick up on that, maybe beacuse I dont have any friends either.
In addition most card providers in Hong Kong charge to transfer points to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.
In return you get my George R R Martin length treaty on why I boycott my local fish and chip shop - (spoiler alert it concerns the size of the potato cakes)
After 4 years as a QFF member I decided not to fly Qantas anymore unless its a must.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when I found out they charge an annual fee to transfer points from CBA CC to their program. That is right down ridiculous!
I've been living abroad for a long time and returned to Australia few years ago. Since I travel few times a year, I thought why not join a FF program? And whats better than Qantas? It seemed like a big company with International fleet more than any other in Australia. Big Mistake!
First, to join you have to shell out 80 or 90 Bucks (not sure of the amount).
Then comes the service, Qantas service on the air is way below what other international airlines offer. I traveled on Malaysian, Singapore and Emirates and all were friendlier and more courteous than Qantas. Even their coach class crew is better than Qantas business.
For some reason, Qantas rips people off and gets away with it here in Australia.
Friends are no indicator IME. Just look at me.
As for derailing the thread, I think it was derailed in post #1.
