QFF security issues?

Every Monday for the last 2 months I have received the following txt "xx_xx_x is your Qantas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 13 11 31 or 61(2) 9433 2329 Mon-Sat 7am-7pm AET."

It arrives every Monday and about half an hour later each week.

I have rung QFF with no solution offered except that "Hmmm someone might be trying to access your account". DER.

I have rung multiple times and asked for it to be escalated to no avail

Has anyone experienced anything like this and if so how did you resolve it?

Could you have signed in or used your QFF details on some other app that tracks you Qantas status/points earn? If so, have you tried changing your PIN and seeing what breaks?

Haven't experienced this with Qantas, but have seen such behaviour elsewhere.

It does sound like someone, or something is attempting to access your account, and the 2-factor authentication is doing what it is supposed to.

What's your expectation of Qantas incidentally? Lock the account? Close the account and give you a new FF#?

As per the earlier poster, it could be an app that you have used. For example, Tripit has a points tracker that logs into your account for a points balance. Uber and some other apps also link to your account. There's also browser plug ins etc.

Not that I remember but I will do some checking. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good point. I have been a member for nearly 40 years, since it was the TAA scheme, and don't want to lose my number as I was such an early adopter. QF own QFF so I just want a solution.

Thanks all. It could have been Award Wallet so I have removed my memberships from that and will see what happens.

Thanks for the sensible suggestions, greatly appreciated.
The regularity suggests it was something like that.

The left field option was someone incorrectly entered their mobile number registering a new account and are wondering why they don’t get the SMS and can’t access their account ! 😂

I have the 61(2) number logged as the number to call QF from overseas, which we had to do a couple of years ago when trying to get back from Italy and had problems with our booking.
