I actually find that repacking my laptop is usually what seems to get me targetted. "Oh, just while you're doing that sir..."

I seem to have gone through a patch of this.

I have done this on a number of ocassions inward to both Sydney & Melbourne lounges. As long as you show both your card & boarding pass, you should be fine. I often do this purposefully to get fed and use the Internet access, etc.

Unless you are CL or WP it will not always work; MEL T1 QP generally denies access in these cases. A SG/QP would be fortunate.

And you can't do this at all at most international terminals upon arrival.
