QFF Status run Europe

So are you saying that now upgraded BA flights earn 0 status credits since they are classed as a classic award (i.e. not even the base status credits earned)? If so, wow that's scary!

I read that as the original fare was “classic reward” whY which usually earns 0 SCs. So upgrading was probably not going to earn extra SCs.

Probably wasn’t clear, purchased an economy fare on BA and upgraded online in advance. When I filed missing flight claim tit was declined as it was a “classic reward” apparently, when I called I got the original SCs for economy but refused the business SCs

I wonder if that was a one off glitch or if this was a recent enhancement by QFF? The T&Cs from BA make it clear that you are supposed to be receiving frequent flyer points and status credits based on the upgraded cabin. Then again they preface that as being for BA Executive Club members, so makes me wonder if this benefit is only recognized for them?

Given it books into U (which is normally a J award booking) then yes I would suggest that is the case. It's just like if a BAEC card holder pays for an upgrade with AA, they don't earn the upgraded TP's (not sure if an AAdvantage member or does in that instance either, though).

Pretty sure there’s a pre Rona thread on this topic. From very vague memory, there were comments that upgrading at airport/checkin was hit and miss coming through to QF, whereas those advance purchase upgrades, IME came through no drama.

I‘m speculating but maybe the early “reticketing” of upgrading online flows through to QF more seamlessly than upgrading at the airport (ie the flight credit gets posted based on original booking).

Bit late, but how to get the 4 squiggly mark though if there are no QF flight numbers in sight?
Or are they no longer necessary re QFF?

I am currently in this loop with QFF... purchased a BA econ flight, then upgraded to Business with cash after reading the BA conditions in depth... Qantas now saying I am only eligible for the original flight as per their T&Cs. Does anyone know where I can see what my flight was classified as?

It books into U, which is an award bucket.

If you credit to BAEC though, then you'll get the full business TP's.
