QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

Can earn BA TP’s on Australian domestic flights and if you travel East Coast to Perth regularly it’s a real sweet spot.
Can't use on E190 services - ie. DRW-ADL-DRW. When this was operated by 737's DRW-ADL was also "sweet"...

Are you talking about redemptions?

You can still redeem BA Avios on QantasLink flights but this may require a phone call.

Oh!
Yes talking about redemptions.
I didn't know you could call BA and ask for Avios redemption on QantasLink - that's good to know.

It is a bit of a pain with QFL. When doing the BKK special with BA you have to fly from BNE and not MCY if you want to start with a J flight that is included in the BA fare.

Well, it seems that the QR/QF tiff is getting even worse.

There are now no longer any QR awards (even in Y) for the route I booked a couple of months ago (MEL-MXP) 249 days out even though there are award seats available through JL and VA for that route...

Yeah - we're all watching in horror...

Not all... I do know that what goes around comes around and there have been lots of times when positions have been reversed (and will be again). But for the time being, those of us booking long-haul trips galore with Velocity points are feeling just a little smug...

Doesn't seem that you can even select DOH on the booking engine
If you’re referring to flights originating in DOH, that’s always been an issue. Something to do with currencies. But obviously a PITA when searching for reward flights.

The work around is to search a return sectors eg SYD-DOH-SYD.

I'm not sure if this has already been reported (@Mattg?), but it appears Qatar have removed access to all business class award seats for Qantas. The 119 day rule no longer appears to apply.

This flight is within 119 days and is no where to be found on QF, but is bookable on AA, BA & CX:

Availability on VA also so it appears a definite ploy on QR’s behalf.
When QF are trying to block more QR slots in Australia I’d also be seeking retribution if I was in charge of QR

Wouldn't encouraging QF folks to redeem on QR be a good idea for QR though? They get to see how superior the QR J product is plus don't QF have to pay QR for the redemptions?

I had to book my QR award flight using CX miles. Qantas call centre said they could not see any availability.
