Want to stay in Sydney on Thursday at an IHG hotel, but not a lot of availability in the price range I need to book in.

I can see lastminute.com.au has a best flexible at Potts Point available, but the IHG website says there is no rooms available. If I book on lastminute.com.au, do I get points, or should I ring the hotel and see if they can open availability up for me?

In theory no points, being third party. I often see such a scenario, not a fan.

Might be the first time in a couple of years that I'm voluntarily forced to stay elsewhere :/
