Hi All-
I am looking to redeem an Economy ticket from Melbourne to Delhi using Krisflyer miles on the following travel plan:

Melbourne to Bangkok- Thai Airways
Bangkok to Delhi- Air India

The ticket is available to redeem on the SQ website but not sure of the following:

1. Will I need to take my bags at Bangkok and re check-in again - meaning will I need a valid Thai visa to complete the process
or will my bags be through checked-in from Melbourne to Delhi and I will need only to do a normal transit passage to the Air India gate

Doing a multi airline redemption for the first time so not sure how the process works as I believe SQ will issue me 2 PNRs - 1 for Thai and another for AI meaning that I will need to check in twice before each travel.

Pls advise.

If you are redeeming this itinerary and a single PNR has both the sectors then you don't have to collect luggage. Even in a different scenario where you have two different PNRs , I don't think you will have to take a transit visa to change flights at the international terminal. It also depends on how long is the stop over and the passport country. Hope it works out in your favor.

The transit is merely 2 hours and I believe it will not be possible to get the bag and recheck-in again at busy Bangkok airport

I understand you are redeeming miles , however it is not very clear if you are redeeming both the itineraries as part of single PNR or different PNRs. I might not be correct but looks like you are trying to book separate tickets aka PNRs. It will be difficult , if the time between the flights is less. Hope it works out okay for you
