Hi everyone,

I had a query re booking virgin money's 2-4-1 flights, in regard to how you pay. The TCs state...
"The following forms of payment will only be accepted when using the offer: Virgin Flyer Credit Card; Virgin High Flyer Credit Card and Virgin Australia Group AUD Gift Vouchers."

Was wanting some clarification regarding the gift voucher in particular. My situation is, I currently have a flexi fare purchased for a business trip NTL-MEL in July. My partner will be joining me, but currently she cannot guarantee the exact dates. If she is able to travel on the same dates as my flight, the plan is to cancel my existing flight (will have to cop the $60 fee), obtain a credit, then rebook us both using a 2-4-1 (effectively she will travel free thanks to my flights being paid for by work)

With this situation - would virgin money accept the VA credit as a form of payment? Does it count as a gift voucher? If anyone has had any experience along these lines, would be greatly appreciated. Acknowledged I can call VM and may well have too for clarification, but we all know how difficult it can be dealing with them!

Thanks to anyone who can help

It's Virgin Australia you should call to check, as they will be the ones who take the payment. Not sure of the answer myself, I thought you could use a credit at one stage, but your t&c above suggest not.

Yeah might give them a call tomorrow. At the end of the day, a credit is effectively what a gift voucher is - so common sense would think that it would be an ok method of payment. But I guess you cant bank on it.

Has anyone on here booked a 2-4-1 using a VA credit?

I believe this question has been asked previously, but I seem to recall no firm answer. Ring the GCC as the first step I'd think.

I too will be very interested to know the outcome of this. I recently had to cancel a flexi fare 2-4-1 booking, and VA have put it in my travel bank. I will be really cheesed off if I can't use it again to re-book on another 2-4-1.

If that is the case, then VA need to refund the amount back to my Virgin Flyer card.
